Deanna Teel, a former Peace Corps Volunteer in Africa, has been involved both in education and business for most of her career. With a B.S. degree in Education and a M.B.A. degree (Concentration in International Business), she taught at the University of Houston-Downtown in the College of Business for fifteen years. Additionally, she worked for many years as the Program Manager with the Houston Education Resource Network of the Robert and Janice McNair Foundation. She has lived and worked abroad for six years in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. Most recently she was chosen as a Fulbright Fellow to China and also studied at the University of Hawaii in the Asian Development Studies Program of the East West Center. She is currently a District Export Council (DEC) member, a member of the International Transportation Management Association (ITMA), the Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT) and the Houston/Southeast Texas Fulbright Chapter.
As the Lead International Business Professor in the Business Management/Administration Department, Mrs Teel acts as Project Director for the Export Academy.
