Radi Al-Rashed - CEO, International Chem-Crete, a Dallas company founded in 1967
Radi Al-Rashed is CEO of International Chem-Crete and has over 30 years of experience in the construction chemical industry. He is a graduate of University of North Texas (UNT), a recognized industry leader, innovator and patent holder. His pioneering new products and processes are both effective and environmentally conscious, including products that are non-toxic and solvent free.
International Chem-Crete has its International offices in Richardson, Texas with additional offices in Holic, Slovakia. The company has manufacturing facilities in the United States (Burleson, TX and Atlanta, GA) and Europe (Holic, Slovakia).
Waterproofing and adhesives are the primary focus of the company’s 200+ products. Typical applications are in the construction industry and would include airports, roads, dams, ports, railways, residential housing and civil/commercial structures.
His innovations include both improvements to products and advances in application systems. He has invented new products that have had significant impact in his industry and been awarded two patents. The first, for a Low-Viscosity, Silicone-Modified Penetrating Asphalt Sealer to Eliminate Water Associated Problems in Asphalt Pavements, such as roads, highways, airport runways, etc.
The second patent is for an Aqueous Chemical Mixture to Mitigate Water Associated Problems in Concrete Structures and pavement on grade. These innovations, inventions and patents are, in part, the result of his pioneering work with Hydroscopic and Hydrophilic Crystallization enabling the long-term sustainability of concrete structures such as roads, highways, airports, etc.
The company serves an international market through a network of strategic distribution partnerships and direct sales. Markets include Asia, (Russia and China), Central and Western Europe, the Middle East, North America and South America. Clients include State Highway Departments, Airport Authorities, Road Authorities, Municipalities, Industrial Flooring (Food Processing Plants, Technology centers). The company is affiliated with industry trade organizations including the International Concrete Restoration Institute.
Mr. Al-Rashed received an appointment by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to the North Texas District Export Council to contribute leadership and business experience in support of the Nation’s joint industry/government export expansion effort. He served 2007 as a Member, in 2009 as 1st Vice Chair, and in 2010 as Chairman. In 2012 he became Chairman Emeritus and currently continues his service as Secretary of the Council.
His accomplishments include the establishment of trade education programs, international meetings to promote trade, development of international relationships and advocacy for small businesses involved in international trade. His efforts earned him the Export Achievement Certificate for Accomplishments in the Global Marketplace from the U.S. Department of Commerce and recognition in 2012 by the District Export Council for “Superior contributions as Chair Emeritus, Chair of the Electronic Communications Committee, and Chair of the Security & Compliance Committee of the North Texas District Export Council”.
He is Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board of American Aero Construction, LLC; a custom-engineering facility and equipment solutions provider for clients who perform maintenance, repair and overhaul, or product development for gas turbine engines.
He was Co-Founder, Principal, and Director of T W International Group, Inc. which was organized to provide financial and consulting services to individuals and corporations on a national and international basis. The additional founders were former U.S. Senator and Chair of the Senate Armed Services Committee; John G. Tower, former General Counsel of the U.S. Treasury Department; Attorney Paul W. Eggers and former Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Sallie Mae; Timothy G. Greene.
Service to his community includes membership in the Richardson Rotary club. He is an active member in the club and contributes his significant knowledge and experience in international trade to support of the club’s international programs.
International Chem-Crete was founded in 1969 in Dallas, Texas for the manufacturing of construction chemical products. In 1987, Chem-Crete grew to be a leader in green-technology for the construction chemicals industry through research, development and patent awards on innovative water-based products. It manufacturers over 120 products used for infrastructure projects such as roads, airports, bridges, rails, and commercial buildings. International Chem-Crete’s product line encompasses new construction as well as repair maintenance products.
The company has two regional manufacturing facilities. Its corporate office is in Richardson, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. Its manufacturing in Texas and Atlanta, Georgia supply the American market, Canada, Asia and N. Africa. The country of Slovakia is the second home of International Chem-Crete Company and distributor for Europe and the Russian region. Since the mid 1980’s, Chem-Crete’s focus has been on operations and distribution of its products in these target markets.
